The Waukee Brief
Triumph Park is Waukee's flagship park - a 66-acre sports complex on the north side of town where a dozen ball fields share the grounds with one of the most accessible playgrounds in the metro, a custom Miracle League field, and an 11-acre fishing pond. It draws travel-ball tournaments from across the region and families from down the street. Here's what's out there.
Triumph Park is a 66-acre City of Waukee sports complex at 700 NW Douglas Parkway. It has 12 softball and baseball fields, the Greater Iowa Credit Union Miracle League field, the 15,000-square-foot EPIC inclusive playground, an 11-acre pond with an accessible fishing pier, and about three miles of trails, plus concessions, restrooms and 750 parking spaces. It's free to visit.
Triumph Park is built as a full tournament complex: 12 softball and baseball fields plus practice areas, concessions and 750 parking spaces, laid out to host large tournaments that draw teams from across the region and the country. Little details make it work for long game days - synthetic turf outside the dugouts to keep things from turning to mud, and shade over nearly every seating area. On a summer weekend it's one of the busiest sports venues in Dallas County.
The heart of Triumph Park is its inclusive design. The Greater Iowa Credit Union Miracle League field is a custom rubberized-turf ballfield that welcomes wheelchairs and other assistive devices, home to the Miracle League - a baseball program for kids ages 5 to 19 with special needs (Waukee hosted the Miracle League All-Star Game in 2023). Next to it, the EPIC inclusive playground spreads over 15,000 square feet, designed so children of all abilities can play side by side. Together they make Triumph Park a genuine destination for families across the metro.
Beyond the diamonds, Triumph Park is a real neighborhood park. There's an 11-acre pond with an accessible fishing pier, about three miles of trails that loop the complex and tie into nearby neighborhoods and regional trail systems, and open greenspaces for pickup play or events. It makes an easy stop for a walk, a first fishing trip, or letting the kids run while a game finishes up. See how it fits the wider network in our Waukee trails guide.
